I’ve always been a dreamer with a wild imagination. As a little girl, I loved Pippi Longstocking. I would often dress in random mismatched outfits, my dad’s ankle boots and T-shirts, and run around the neighborhood wishing I had my own pet monkey and polka dot horse while figuring out how to make that dream of being a total free bird like her my reality. As I got older, I kept that free-spirited and somewhat rebellious nature about me.
As I started dreaming about my white picket fence, as most little girls do, they never included me standing with a sold sign in front of someone else’s house. In my mind, I always had a hammer in my hand, and I built it myself. I ended up hiring the hammer part out, but the rest was born out of those dreams of a little girl. Since I had been going to Bass Lake my entire life and those mountains always felt like home to me, it seemed the perfect location to make that dream a reality. And, of course, since I can’t do anything ordinary, I just had to build something different. That something became Moosehead Lodge.
Follow along to see the cabin’s progression. Who knows, you might be inspired to build your dream.
